Follow our 5 simple steps to wash your swimsuit and keep it beautiful…

Step one: post swim rinse

RINSE your swimsuit immediately after use in cold running water. If you have time, FILL A TUB with cold water and SOAK the swimsuit for 30 minutes to remove all the chemicals, sand and sun creams.

Step two: gentle wash

REFILL A TUB with fresh new cold water and a small dot of gentle ECO liquid detergent or special gentle elastic detergent. Put your swimsuit into the solution and GENTLE HAND WASH by swishing around in the tub.

If you are using a machine, be sure to place your swimmers into a care washing bag and use a gentle cold handwash cycle and low speed rinse cycle.

Step three: post wash rinse

RINSE thoroughly with fresh new cold water.

Step four: gentle drip dry

GENTLY remove excess liquid from swimsuit. DO NOT wring your swimsuit. AIR DRY your swimsuit by laying it flat in a spot with airflow and out of direct sunlight.

Step five: store it right

Lay flat in a dry place, moisture may cause mildew.

Don’t hang up your swimsuit, as it will stretch out the fibres.

More handy washing cheats

  • Cold is always the recommended water temperature.

  • For a quick rinse, wear your swimsuit during your post-swim shower and save water (presuming it is a cold one ;).

  • Liquid detergent is more convenient that powdered (as powder may not dissolve completely or rinse away).

  • To extend the life of your garment we recommend hand wash only (if you are tempted to put it into the washing machine use a delicate garments bag, an gentle liquid detergent and set the machine to the delicate cycle).

  • If you don’t have detergent, you can use a gentle shampoo, but first ensure that there is NO conditioner or hair chemicals added to the shampoo product.

  • Avoid direct sunlight and heat when drying your swimsuit avoid - UV rays from the sun can both fade your swimsuit and break down the fibres, as can irons and machine dryers!
