FABRICS, YARNS & FIBRES

We aim to disrupt linear lifecycles in the fashion industry and give materials that would of otherwise ended up in landfill a new life.

Tasha Rui has partnered with ECONYL® brand to use regenerated nylon in the latest swimwear collection. Past swimwear collections are made from mostly regenerated plastics.

OUR FABRICS, YARNS & FIBRES

Our design team, based in Sydney, Australia, is always looking for durable fabrics with low environmental impact. Our core fabrics contain natural recycled and sustainable fabric options manufactured using a variety of environmentally responsible processes.

Where possible, we choose natural materials, such as, organic cotton and linen. Tasha Rui is presently transitioning to 100% use of organic natural fibres (cotton and linen) only with sourcing, difficulties with printing and supply chain constraints in Australia presently being the only barrier to achieving this target.

When using synthetic fabrics, we source those made of regenerated and recycled yarns that have appropriate certifications or contribute to making our planet a better place.

We seek our suppliers who are paving the way for cleaner and sustainable chemical management within the fashion industry and ethical production.

GARMENT CARE

Tasha Rui labels include garment care guides based on best practice. We also provide various blogs on caring for and enjoying your garments. We encourage you to follow these guides and blogs to ensure you are able to extend the lifetime of your garments.

For the garments made of regenerated and synthetic materials, we encourage you to use wash bags and filters in your washing, as a way to manage microfibres when washed. Microfibres are tiny plastic particles that are released from synthetic fibres such as nylon and polyester (even recycled versions of them) when the fabrics are washed.
