At Tasha Rui, we believe everyone deserves a swimsuit that fits beautifully and feels great. Let’s make your swimwear shopping experience as sunny as your beach days!

Let’s start measuring!

What you need to get started…

Ideally, you will have sewing tape or a tailor’s tape measure to hand. If you don’t, use a piece of ribbon or a belt - something that doesn’t stretch. While you are at it, grab a pencil or pen and paper to record your measurements. If you can take your measurements in front of a wall length mirror, bonus!

Our top tips for taking good measurements…

  • The idea is to ensure the garment fits you comfortably. We want you to look glorious in your Tasha Rui eco swim and enjoy wearing it. Remember, the goal is for you to be looking great in your cossies and not meeting a number target.

  • Measure against your skin, as we want an accurate reading. Hold the tape taught as you don’t want the measurement to be too loose.

  • Write the measurement and locations down right away, before you forget.

  • Follow the image guides and steps outlined below to help you measure accurately.

  • You may also want to consider your height, and your torso length, we haven’t included this in the measuring guide below but if you are lovely and tall this can also bump you up a size.

1.Measure your waist

Find your waist. It will be above your hips. And will be where your natural crease line is when you bend over.

Wrap the tape around your waist now you have found it.

Don’t suck in your breath, as you will measure your waist too small.

2.Measure your hips

You may wish to use a mirror (or ask a friend for help) when taking this measurement.

It is easier if you place the tape against one side of your hips, and take the measurement on the other side.

Ensure you are taking the measurement at the fullest part of your buttocks to collect an accurate measurement.

Again, ensure that your tape is level and not loose as that can affect your measurements.

Write the number down right away.

3.Measure chest or bust

Again, you are measuring across the broadest part of your body, as you want your clothing to fit well. You can measure without your bra on, as you will not be wearing it with your swimwear.

To measure your chest area, you need to measure from your armpits, all the way around your shoulder blades, and back to the front across both nipples.

Again, you want to keep the tape on the level so you gain an accurate measurement. If you hold the two ends at the front, it is easier to take the measurements.

Write the number down in centimetres (CM), right away.
